Yamaha WR450F Bikes
The largest of Yamaha's off-road bikes is the WR450F. This push-button-start 449cc liquid-cooled four-stroke bike has many properties of a YZ race bike, but the abilities and parts also needed for enduro or trail riding. The WR450F has a YZ-type aluminum frame, as well as aluminum forgings, castings, extrusions, and a rear sub-frame that has been made of square-section tubing for even less weight. A lightweight exhaust system has also been implemented on this model.
The WR450F has a wide-ratio five-speed transmission with strengthened gears and a multi-plate clutch that gives fast-hitting power on the trails and a lot of top-end power. Low and mid-range power haven’t been left out. They are heightened thanks to WR specific camshafts, carburetion, intake ports, and exhaust. Throttle response is also not a problem thanks to a 39mm Keihin FCR flat-side carburetor with a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).
Specific to the off-road bikes, Yamaha has added a digital enduro computer that shows a speedometer, trip-meter, clock, timer, and your average speed. A thick seat and ultra-wide footpegs will help you to feel more comfortable on long rides, and the lightweight, narrow fuel tank holds 2.1 gallons of fuel.
